HHC's
13th Annual Health Fair
Below
please find forms to participate in the Hispanic Health Council’s Annual Health Fair. This
event is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your programs and services,
celebrate your agency’s successes and share your expertise with community
members, leaders, legislators and other community based organizations. In
addition to being informative and providing free health screenings, the
Hispanic Health Council’s Annual Health Fair is an exciting and
fun day for both adults and children, presented in an atmosphere of
community
celebration.
The Hispanic Health Council’s Annual Health Fair plays a significant
role in improving the health of our community members.
In 2003:
• Over 1,000 adults and children signed
in as guests to the Health Fair
• 82 providers attended
• 18 free healthcare screenings were
offered, and over 2,000 conducted, with bi-lingual assistance
• HHC focused on follow up procedures
for potential health problems identified during screenings and efforts to increase
services to men (ie. prostate
cancer screening).
In 2004, the Hispanic Health Council has chosen to continue ensuring appropriate
follow up and add screenings and providers that address a growing epidemic,
obesity.
Finally, the Hispanic Health Council is proud to continue publishing
the Bilingual Directory of Health and Social Services, a listing of
services
in the Greater Hartford area, available in hardcopy, as well as online
at the Hispanic Health Council’s website.
