The Research & Evaluation component plays a vital role in the success of the Family Nutrition Program-Infant/Toddler (FNP-IT). The concepts of how FNP-IT could benefit the Latino community in Hartford, Connecticut, were initially identified with a nutrition needs assessment study. Subsequently, research has blossomed in addressing and enhancing the understanding of many important nutrition related issues in the Latino community. The Research & Evaluation unit provides essential support for the success of PANA and ¡SALUD!. Both programs were successfully developed based on meticulous research and planning. These programs have been and will continue to be evaluated to maximize their impact and cost-effectiveness.
